Christmas Gift Idea

Kate over at Babylune offers us her Christmas list. I thought it was a great idea. So I thought I would let you in on some really good ideas for Thrifty Mommy worthy gifts. Here we go.
- Gift Certificates. This might sound cheesy but don’t judge yet. Gas GC’s are a great way to give a gift that is useful. Anybody out there filling up their gas tank for less than $30 recently? Visa, MC, and Amex GC’s are useful for us still in the diaper buying season of our lives. That way we can buy our diapers where they are on sale.
- Magazine subscriptions. This can be very useful for specific reasons. My babysitter, MM, is having her gall bladder taken out this week so her eating will have to change. I got her mom a subscription to Light and Tasty (she asked for it) so that she can get new recipes that are healthier. I got me one too. Look and see the length of your subscription options. You might be able to get them cheaper if you get a longer subscription. If you have a sports lover in the family, a subscription to Sports Illustrated would be a great gift. This is one gift you don’t have to even wrap or pack!
- Food. Why are you laughing? My BFF, Robyn, got me hot tea one year because whenever we would go out for dinner, I would always order it. She got my DH a 2 liter of Diet Coke since he drinks it like candy. I am getting my FIL (he doesn’t read this blog so I can tell you ahead of time) 12 bags of his favorite cookie with each month labeled on the front of the bag. That way he has to stretch them out for the whole year. Yeah right!
Who says you have to spend a lot of $ to show you care. It’s the thought that counts and certain gifts just mean more if you put forth the effort. I will elaborate later on what I got MM since she does read this occasionally. HAHA, you have to wait <wink>.
